INDIAN ELEPHANT |
| The
Asian Elephants, listed among the endangered
animals are usually very sociable animals.
They attack only when provoked to do so or
in certain conditions. Only 45,000 elephants
remain in the wild now. To protect these animals,
Project Elephant has been started. |
| |
The Asian Elephants are different from
their African counterparts, in terms of
their size. They are smaller, have smaller
ears and tusks. The best place to see wild
elephants is the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary,
which has the highest number of elephant
population in India. The Bandipur National
Park also has a good population of elephants.
|
| While
talking about elephants, don’t forget
to thank the elephants that give you a ride
on their back and give you a tour of the park
as well as take you to meet their wild friends. |
