The Pin Valley National Park was established in order
to protect and conserve the endangered Himalayan Fauna
and Flora. A natural habitat for the Snow Leopard,
it is also home to its prey - the Himalayan Ibex.
The elusive Snow Leopard is very rarely seen.
Sharing their home are some animals like the Bharal,
Wooly Hare and the Tibetan Wolf.

| Birds in Pin Valley National Park: |

The National Park provides cover for some rare
birds also, some of them being the Chukor, Snow
Partridge, the Tibetan Snow Finch and the rarely

| The Flora of Pin Valley National
Park: |
|
|
Even though the climates are extreme and the park
is situated at a high altitude, the vegetation is
not much affected. The vegetation is scanty and is
dominated by trees like the Salampanja, Ateesh, Ratanjot
and Somlata. As summer arrives, so do blooms of flowers
of every color. The Wild Rose is one such tree which
provides a splash of color in the otherwise dry surroundings.
Medicinal herbs form part of the vegetation in this
park.
